March 11, 2007 - 10:11 p.m. Apparently I have been missed. So says poolagirl, and that's good enough for me. It's kind of nice to be missed. So I just thought I'd check in. Not a ton going on, though. Just spring break. Spring definitely hit Santa Fe this last week. Suddenly there's girls lying on the quad in their bikinis. But now I'm back home in Texas. I forget how much I miss Fort Worth. We all went to the Razoo's downtown yesterday for crawfish and I sat facing the windows so I could see everyone walking past in this little city that I love. If you've never been to Fort Worth, I hope you get to go someday. It's just a nice, friendly city. Anyway, we had crawfish, and then ice cream, and hung out at the bookstore for awhile. Laura, my stepmom, always buys me journals for birthdays and Christmases and going away presents. That's my go-to gift. If someone doesn't know what to get me, journals are always a safe bet. So Laura likes to keep me stocked up. She even let me pick them this time, so I got a couple of Moleskines. I love those things. But then again, I love journals in general. The one I'm writing in these days in number forty-one. Forty-one journals in ten years. Wow. I hadn't realized it had been ten years until just now, when I stopped to count. I should find out what day I started and have a little party. Anyway, I don't really have any big plans for spring break. I'm going to go to all the places I miss, all the things I can't get in Santa Fe. Steak and Shake is a big one. On my list of favorite things in the whole world, milkshakes are right up there with journals and pens, and Steak and Shake has the best. Other than that, I'm just trying to work on my short story. I brought plenty of homework back with me, but that's the main thing. The first draft got workshopped in class on Tuesday. My teacher said it has the potential to be the best thing I've ever written. So it's kind of important to me to really work hard on the revision. I'll let you know how it goes.
