A monumentally long Monday!

I flew down to New Orleans this weekend for my Gram and Grandpa's 50th Anniversary! That was exciting. And going out with my cousin on Saturday night was fun, too. But Sunday was scary. We went to my Great-Aunt Janis's house in Metarie to try to salvage what we could. It was really scary. The whole place looks like a war zone. I won't go into details, because there's a good chance I'll start crying about it again.

I think part of the crying last night might have had to do with the fact that I spent ten hours either on planes or sitting in airports. Not a fun way to spend a day. So I got back to school at about twelve-thirty last night. Boo.

But now it's Monday. I spent the morning in class painting, so that wasn't too bad. And they had really yummy soup at lunch, which is exciting in itself. It's rare for the caf to have really good stuff at this school. So far there's been three things that have made me purr, so I'll have to watch out for them.

The main thing making today long is that I started my new job today! I'm doing extra hours on my work study doing data entry for physical plant. I get to work in the haunted building. It used to be dorms, but there were six suicides in one year, and all sorts of scary stories, so now we work in the basement and the rest of the building is storage. Ironically, it's not so scary in the basement. And the guys I work for are funny. And they pay me eight-fifty an hour. Win-win. So basically I'm just trying to make my schedule work without causing a massive burnout. I've been slacking off too much lately anyhow, so hopefully this will help.

I think it will.

I'm optimistic.
